Newsaic
Newsaic is a news aggregator like no other. It take news from multiple sources much like google news but than displays the news in a matrix. As you choose a story it changes the matrix to reflect articles considered related to your story. As you choose more and more stories you narrow your search. This will allow a person to see multiple news stories from multiple sources and viewpoints so they can see a more complete view of a story.
This selection process creates multiple dynamics during the search process. During the initial phases you can get wildly varyingly results for a search allowing someone to “explore” the news quickly accessing many stories related or not. If you are selecting related stories you can see a thread of relationships between differing stories. In this middle phase there may be many stories that revolve around a single element in a particular a story, this can give and individual a good view of the related issues that contribute to an event. The third phase comes as a user further refines their search by selecting related stories. This allows news from multiple sources which is ideal to give someone a clear view of and issue or event from multiple sides of the story. A task that is normally prohibited by time.
